WHAT IS TARMACADAM?
Tarmacadam, also sometimes known as Asphalt, is literally a tarred macadam surface, that is; a smooth layer of crushed stones, bound together with tar. By keeping the stones bound together, the tar prevents them from being loosened by the passage of vehicles, wind or rain, ensuring that your surface lasts as well as possible, for as long as possible.
